Art Play Café is the kind of space that stops you at the door. Color everywhere, energy in every corner, and that magic that makes kids feel like the whole world was built just for them, while giving parents somewhere genuinely lovely to land.
We take the coffee seriously around here. Avid Coffee, a local craft roaster worth the trip on its own, anchors a full menu of espresso drinks, drip coffee, and caffeine-free options for the little sippers in your crew. We feature ingredients with no artificial coloring or sugars, including the sprinkles. Because if we don't want it for our families, we won't give it to yours. Pair it with a sweet bite or a full meal from some of Sonoma County’s most beloved local spots, and don’t miss out on the awesome Munchables menu!
While the coffee is brewing, the café is a space for all to enjoy. Even before you enter the kid’s play room, there's fun to discover in every corner of the café for kids and grown-ups alike. We also have our beautiful Art Shop in the café, where any age can find something to create. Little ones who aren't quite walking yet have their own space too: our crawlers corner is designed for babies and their grown-ups, so nobody gets left out.

Our Coffee
Good coffee starts with good partners.
We proudly serve Avid Coffee, a Petaluma-based roaster whose craft speaks for itself, alongside a full menu of flavored drinks made with Transcendence syrups. A women-led, POC-owned maker, Transcendence brings globally-inspired flavors to every cup using whole spices with no preservatives or extracts. The result is something worth savoring, even if just for a moment.

All our food items are sourced from local partners we love. Start the morning with a freshly baked pastry from Costeaux or Richly Rooted. Prefer something savory? Sonoma Made's breakfast burritos and sandwiches have you covered. Finding yourself spent after a morning in the playroom? Lunch is sorted too. Fresh salads and sandwiches from Costeaux are in our cold case, ready to eat. Or build your own Munchables plate: a seasonal selection of cheeses, proteins, produce, and crunch, perfect for any age.
For something sweet, Petaluma Bakehouse makes cookies that never last long. And Lady Blume covers the gluten and dairy free crowd with donuts and loaves that don't disappoint. All local, all delicious, all here.

Check out our Create Your Own art menu in the Art Shop! You can choose from a range of hands-on art kits, from painting to embroidery projects, slime and play dough, perfect for little ones who want to create right here at the café. Our staff will set everything up for you, so all you have to do is sit down and get making.

Parking: Free street parking is available in downtown Petaluma as well as a free parking garage on Keller Street, just one block over. We are also stroller-friendly! Stroller parking is available at the back of the café.
